Welcome to My Luxury First, my new Blog! Why I started my online business and my upcoming 6 year Anniversary

This year, 2016 marks the MyLuxury1st 6 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! YAY!  My Luxury First has been an online business for over 5 years.  Starting off on eBay and expanding to Amazon, Etsy, and it's own online site: www.MyLuxury1st.com.

In 2010, the founder and owner, Denyce@Hairdresser.net or Denise @ MyLuxury1st, started selling online through eBay.  This started off as a hobby and something fun to do as she had always been selling online through previous job and work experiences.

Allow me to introduce myself!  AHEM!  I'm Denise!  Hi there!

I started selling online after my first son was born in 2010 because now I had two children and was not sure how daycare would work out for my family because it is very expensive.  So I began listing items from my daughters old inventory.  She was 5 then.  And I had saved all her baby clothes for 5 years because I wanted to save just incase I had another girl but I ended up having a boy and no need for the girly items so I listed them all on Ebay and they began to sell.  Yay!  I was on to something. But everyone was selling their old clothes.  No biggie.  I slowly began sourcing other items from around the house or whenever I found something I thought would sell.  It became more than fun.  It became a livelihood.  I could stay home and make some money and watch my kids.  Soon after,I became pregnant again so now I was going to have 3 children and daycare would really be crazy so I decided to make a business out of it and try my luck.

I began hand making different hair extension methods after a friend of mine noticed my clip in hair extensions.  I began posting them online and people began buying them so I figured I was really on to something!  This was now the year 2011.  My 2nd son was born so now I have 3 children.  I was hooked with selling online and have not turned back since!

I obtained my sellers permit and business license and started to rent out a small space from my old boss so that I could have somewhere to house my items.  It felt good working for myself.  I began letting friends [or so-called friends] in on everything that I was doing so that more people could work from home.  Some tried it and didn't like it and some did it for a short time while others stole and continue to steal my ideas and use them as their own.  Such a shame when you try to help out people who you think have your best interested but hey really want to do what you are doing.  There is more than enough room in the online selling community to come up with your own ideas; rather than to steal others.  But that's another topic.

Today and going forward I am here to testify that online business can make it.  They say that mot businesses fail or give up during the first 5 years.  There are a lot of challenges and sometimes it is not all profit.  Even now, it seems like I may make a lot from the outside looking in, but my net or after taxes show otherwise.

I just feel inspired everyday to continue moving on and doing he best work I can possibly do.  In 2012, I officially became the only online vendor who hand makes all of my own hair extensions on my own and in 5-6 different methods.  That's awesome!  And something to be proud of.  Other businesses have teams or someone helping them, I have no one.  Jut working all alone and I get a fair amount of orders.  I like to sell and make quality over quantity.

One business fail that I ventured into was making Shampoos and Conditioners.  A lot of my customers and clients would ask me for them and I began making them and they didn't sell too well. I don't know if it was because of the marketing I didn't have or if it was just because people were not really interested.  That's what got me hooked on making soaps and making and distributing my own pigments.  I would send some of the melt and pour soaps I made to customers and they liked them, but most of all they liked the colors and wanted to learn how to make their own soaps and test the colors.  Word of mouth spread fast and I became the first to sell, make, and list pigment samples at 1g each for testing and small personal crafts.  It's true.  Everything can be verified online and dates back to 2011.  Others have come along the way and even x-friends have copied my from A-Z because of my success but thy can't copy my honest hard work and thinking cap that goes into everything I do.

So with God, I think and do believe all things are possible and I will keep on keeping on.  Striving to work faster for my customers and putting out innovative products that can help others in their daily life.  It's fun and I enjoy it and hope that I can continue to serve my clients and keep u the good work throughout the daily gripes that may come with having your own business.

I feel like I have achieved a lot in 5-6 years such as my warehouse, customer service, and strong mind frame.  Research and development.  I will keep going. Keep moving and improving.

Happy 6 year anniversary to me!  Coming August 2016!
